Dr Laura Wang
I am a highly trained Endocrine, Head & Neck surgeon who found my passion during my registrar years while working in Endocrine, Head and Neck departments across Sydney. I obtained my BS(Med) MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Science Medicine) from the University of New South Wales in 2008. My General Surgical training was completed at various institutions including Liverpool Hospital, Campbelltown Hospital, Prince Alfred Hospital, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Auburn Hospital, and several regional centers. It was as a junior registrar that I developed a deep interest in Endocrine, Head and Neck surgery.
After becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2018, I was selected for dual fellowships in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular reconstruction at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, which is known globally for its excellence. These two intensive fellowships allowed me to refine my operative and clinical skills, particularly in treating tumors of the Head and Neck.
I am a leader in my field with over 30 peer-reviewed publications in the area of Head and Neck oncology. I also hold a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) focusing on thyroid cancer prognosis and management. I am a regular speaker at national and international conferences and currently serve as a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney.
My clinical interests encompass all aspects of Head and Neck care, including Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery, Skin cancer surgery, Parotid and Submandibular gland surgery, Neck lymph node surgery, Oral cavity and Jaw cancer surgery, and Head and Neck reconstruction.
I look forward to providing comprehensive and individualized care for any Endocrine and Head and Neck patients.
